Starcraft II launches today continuing the epic saga of the Protoss, Terran, and Zerg. These three distinct races will clash once again in the fast-paced real-time strategy sequel to the original, StarCraft, 12 years later.
That is right, Blizzard waited 12 years with the sequel to Starcraft. Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty is off to a very hot start. As reported Starcraft II is expected to reach 7 million sold copies within the first year.
To illustrate the Starcraft II hype. In Singapore 10,000 gamers came out for a launch event at a mall. In South Korea, Starcaft II will change professional gaming as the original Starcraft is a huge fixture there. With games like Startcraft II, PC gaming stays very much alive.
There are actually no reviews of Starcraft II as the press did not get early access to the game according to the BBC. I also don't think fans of the game need any convincing at this point.
Starcraft II is available for PC and Mac. The Standard edition sells for $59.99 on Amazon.
