Among the bunches of new stuff that Panasonic announced today was this slick little camcorder that is handheld and very compact. The device is designed to appeal to the user looking for a camcorder for uploading to YouTube or Facebook.

The camcorder is called the HM-TA1 and comes in red, black, purple, and gray colors. The camera shoots still shots and can record full HD video. When at the desk the camcorder can also act as a webcam with USB connectivity.

The little camera measures 2.09" W x 0.70" D x 4.09" H and weighs a quarter of a pound with the battery and memory card. The video is recorded in MPEG-4 AVC format and the LCD is a 2-inch unit. Panasonic will ship the TA1 in August for $169.95.
