Nintendo unveiled the 3D Nintnendo 3DS at the E3 2010, but did not reveal pricing and release date.
In the course of announcing their earnings, Nintendo told Bloomberg Japan (via VG247), that they will announce the launch date for the Nintendo 3DS on September 29th.
Analysts see the price for the 3DS just below $300.
Nintendo actually posted the first quarterly loss today. According to Bloomberg this is the first loss since two years. The reason for that are the stronger yen and weaker Nintendo DS sales.
Nintendo sees the 3DS to revive earnings growth for the fiscal year.
My concern is that Nintendo will only release the 3DS in Japan this Fall and the US and Europe have to wait until Spring 2011. The company followed that launch scheme in past console releases.
