The Motorola Droid 2 may be launching sooner than anticipated. Previous rumors had it slated for an August 23 launch. Now Don't Hate The Geek has received an internal Verizon screenshot that points to August 12 as the day-of-truth.

This would put the new Android smartphone out on the same day as the BlackBerry Torch. Considering the fact that Android is now more popular than BlackBerry, this coincidence could end up being a very bad thing for RIM.
