It looks like the Droid X won't be getting Android 2.2 quite as early as we had expected. Instead of launching around, well, now the update won't be coming until early September according to this post on the Moto support forums.
Motorola is still in the process of working out kinks in the new edition of the OS. This delay is annoying, but the wait until Froyo is well worth it. Of course, those of us who went with the HTC Evo have already benefited from the update. No word yet on whether this delay will affect any other Moto handsets.
