Being a huge geek doesn't mean you don't also love the great outdoors. Like many of you, I spend a substantial amount of my time out camping, hiking and partying in various wooded locales far away from civilization. While most civilized amenities (showers, indoor bathrooms, A/C & heating) can be easily improvised in the field, power is somewhat harder to come by in the middle-of-nowhere. Fortunately, the sun is nearly always out for, at least, portions of the day.
That's where the USB 2.0 4-port hub with torch from Brando Workshop comes in. This bad boy packs a solar panel and 7 mobile phone connectors. It can charge as many as four devices at once and also contains a flashlight. This thing has its own internal battery, which means you can charge it up before heading out to the woods in order to give yourself a little extra juice.
This wonder-gadget ways a little more than one ounce and costs $22. No word on how well the charger itself works, but a price this low might be enticing enough to justify the risk.
