The rumor mill has new tidbits about the new Apple TV. Engadget is adding new rumors to their previous rather exciting Apple TV reports. The idea of a $99 Apple TV based on the iPhone 4 CPU with iOS could be a hot solution for getting internet onto TVs the big way.
Apple is going to rename the new Apple TV box to iTV according to Engadget. iTV makes a lot more sense as it fits with iPhone, iPod and iPad, but aren't there tons of trademark issues? iTV is a pretty common name for TV related things like TV stations.
Interestingly, if you search for itv on Google, the Apple TV product page is ranked on the first page.
The Apple iTV is also rumor to only handle 720p video and to offer access to apps. The limitation to 720p is odd, but maybe this is not a technical limitation, but part of a deal with movie and TV studios.
