The agreement will see Samsung and Seagate jointly develop new technology like controllers for use on Seagate drives. The drive swill use Samsung flash NAND chips.
The specific chips Samsung is providing for the project is its 30nm class MLC NAND. One of the first things to work on for the two firms is a controller for SSDs that will be developed jointly.
