Welcome to the new I4U News! Many of you will have noticed that we started rolling out a whole new site yesterday. We have worked through most of the issues and the site should be pretty stable now. It is a very exciting moment for me to finally take this big step.
We have evolved the site and its PHP Nuke based CMS over almost 10 years now. Now we've made the big cut and jumped to the wonderful Drupal content management system. The new visual design (if you've already forgot the old i4U News look, hit the gallery) aims to create a fun and clean interface to the exciting gadget and technology news universe. The robots in the background are a symbol for gadget love. Gadgets are not just a pile of chips and cables. Gadgets are highly emotional. My long running colleague Shane actually had this robot when he was a child.
As said under the hood of I4U News is now the open source CMS Drupal. Drupal allows us to manage and publish content in more robust ways that make it more usable for you. Combined with the new focused structure of what I like to call the Gadget Life Cycle, I4U News is now a much more powerful resource for gadget and technology fans. The life of a gadget starts with a rumor. If the rumor turns out to be true we see official news and start reading reviews. Then a gadget goes on sale. This stage is all about deals and availability. The final stage is owning a gadget and using it. These four stages are the gadget life cycle. I4U News is dedicated to keeping you up to date through the gadget life cycle.
The new homepage is the ideal starting point to see what is important right now. On top you see the featured main topics that we are focused on at the moment. Below you will find two sticky stories that are must read. Below flows our 24 hour coverage of the gadget life cycle.
A special thank you goes out to German based agency Revelate, who designed and developed the new I4U News site.
I invite you to explore the new I4U News today. We are very interesting in your feedback. Please either email me or post a comment (link is below) to this story.
