Here is a another little break from our CES 2010 News reports. A new Apple Tablet rumor broken loose by The Street (via Techmeme) says that the Apple Tablet would not be based on a Intel CPU.
The Street quotes Northeast Securities analyst Ashok Kumar saying that Intel did not make the cut to be providing the Tablet CPU.
Apple's P A Semi is back in the spotlight and maybe we see finally a chip designed by them inside an Apple product. A custom chip with new capabilities that Intel, AMD and ARM are not able to offer would be the best protection against copycats.
As rumored Microsoft showed an HP Slate Tablet briefly at the CES keynote. The HP Slate looks sleak, but is just a Windows 7 Tablet - nothing new there. It is also not ready to be released.
