I have been happily toiling along with my 100Mbps network card in my desktop for years. I don't have the network hardware needed to even take advantage of Gigabit networking that my computer features. Some folks are already needing more speed than Gigabit networking can provide.
For these folks Thecus has pulled the wraps off a new network card called the C10GT. The car slips into an x4 or x 8 PCI Express slot and supports speeds up to 10Gb. The card is for the upcoming 10Gb specification and will mostly be in enterprise networks I would think.
The card has dual interfaces with support fiber optic and copper wiring on a CX4 port or a SFP+ port. The card is compliant with IEEE 802.3ae, IEEE 802.3ak, and IEEE 802.1q VLAN specifications. The adapter can also be used inside of several NAS devices that are offered by Thecus.
