The days of UK gamers waiting eons and eons to get their hands on the same identical video game products as the US are becoming a thing of the past, and Microsoft confirmed its love for the UK by announcing a Kinect release date that's just days behind the US launch.
The software giant confirmed at European video game trade show Gamescom that the Kinect motion-sensing peripheral will be available for UK Xbox 360 owners on November 10, just five days after their gaming counterparts in the US get to head out to the stores to buy their copies.
"We're already seeing a high level of anticipation in Europe with sales of the Kinect ready Xbox 360 250GB creating an all-time record weekly market share," said Microsoft's Xbox VP Chris Lewis at Gamescom.
At £130, it will be just about as expensive as a Wii and considerably more expensive than Sony's Move motion controller which comes out in early fall. However, Microsoft remains strong in saying that consumer interest will justify its high price tag.
Kinect will launch with a handful of titles, none of which are the amazing revolutionary games we were promised at last year's unveiling of the technology, but rather a bunch of mini-game compilations and family-friendly party games.
Nonetheless, it'll be a hot holiday item so get your pre-orders in!
