Perhaps mistakenly posting it before Sony makes an official announcement at this week's Gamescom show, GameStop reportedly had a listing for a 160 GB PS3 console up on its website earlier but has since taken it down.
In the US, the PS3 is currently offered in two capacities - one with a 120 GB hard drive and one with a 250 GB hard drive. The fact that GameStop had a 160 GB unit begs the question of whether Sony will start having a three-pronged PS3 approach or if it will begin to phase out the 120 GB model.
It seems like more than just a typographical error. According to those who saw the posting online, GameStop listed the console as "Just Announced." It also times nicely with a scheduled Sony press conference at the European Gamescom convention.
Stay tuned because it's likely this piece of hardware news will become official within the next few hours.
