Android is kicking butt by yet another measure of success. Androinica reports that Millennial Media has sent out an ad metric study which shows Google's OS going fast. Ad Metrics studies measure how many advertisements a certain smartphone platform has served. As such, they offer a good look at just how much browsing a certain OS's users are doing.

Android is sitting pretty at 19%. That puts it above RIM, at 16%, but below Apple's iOS with a commanding 55%. The Droid is the head of the Android phalanx, responsible for an astonishing 5% of the ad impressions served. The report also brings up some interesting info; 100% of apps that are on multiple platforms are on iOS. 75% are on Android. Since January, Android ad requests have surged by 690%.
