File this one in the "Oh, god..." files. Soccer superstar and noted Posh Spice lovemaker David Beckham is about to be plastered all over ads for EA's upcoming fitness game sequel EA Sports Active 2.
The game is slated for release in November across Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3. It's quite noteworthy to mention that the original EA Sports Active was a Wii exclusive but the game has been tailored to accommodate the new Move and Kinect controls for a multi-platform release.
EA Sports top dog Peter Moore crowned Beckham as "someone who could inspire people to get active." Of course, this is the same guy who said Tiger Woods' venerable sports icon status could never be hurt by the sex scandal, and then saw sales of Tiger Woods PGA Tour video games go down the drain.
Honestly, the only thing Beckham has ever personally inspired us to do is turn off the local news when he's playing against our city's team.
Oh well. It could be worse. Like, it could be the apocalypse or something. Or we could have to start seeing Beckham's wife again. Those Spice Girls are so totally over. All of them.
