Close, but no cigar Toshiba.
Details of the new Toshiba Tablet have just leaked out to the wide world. Electronista has translated a report from Notebook Italia that outs the new slate as packing a dual-core Tegra 250. It'll be able to output 1080p content over HDMI as well as slightly-less awesome HD video on its 10" 1024x600 screen.

The Toshiba Folio 100 will have 16 GB of internal storage, 3G, Bluetooth and WiFi n. There will be full-sized and mini-USB ports, plus a microSD slot. There's a 1.3 MP front-facing camera. Battery life will be a concern though; just 7 hours of video & web as opposed to the 10+ hours delivered by the iPad.

Expect the Folio 100 to launch with Android 2.2 and the Opera Mobile browser with Flash 10.1 standard. Toshiba will also be launching a proprietary cradle-dock and their own app store, the Toshiba Marketplace. Can this thing fight off the iPad? Consider me a skeptic. The specs are nice enough, but that wussy battery life could prove a drawback severe enough to make consumers hold out for something better.
