LG will exhibit their full range of 3D devices at the IFA 2010 this week. The top of the line 3D TV is the new LG LEX8. The LEX8 is the world's slimmest full LED TV with a depth of only 8.8umm. When I saw the nano full LED LEX8 in a preview the word was that it measure 7.8mm. Apparently this got adjusted since then. In any case this is a gorgeous TV, which also has the narrowest bezel of any full LED TV on the market with 12.5mm according to LG.
In a world first for the TV industry, the LG LEX8 adds NANO Lighting Technology to LG’s FULL LED backlighting to produce pictures that are brighter, clearer and smoother than ever before. Also on show at the IFA 2010 is the new LG LEX9, which boasts the biggest LED LCD screen yet at a cool 72 inches
With an array of LED backlights behind the screen, LG’s FULL LED 3D TVs deliver brightness that draws out the sharpest 3D images on the market. While the entire FULL LED 3D TV range comes with localized dimming, the LEX8’s dimming function – called Micro Pixel Control – is LG’s most advanced yet, delivering a wide and rich array of colors that produce even more gripping 3D pictures. Complementing their outstanding brightness, the LEX8 and LEX9 also come with TruMotion 400Hz, which provides an ultra-fast screen refresh rate for the most comfortable 3D images. Completing the effect, the narrow bezel INFINIA Design lets the 3D images practically burst out of the screen.
I have seen the image quality on a pre-production model of the LEX8 and it was astonishing. 3D on a high-end TV like the LEX8 is really awesome. Beware! Once you have seen 3D on the LEX8 you will not be able to endure 3D on lower end TV sets.
LG LEX8 Features:
NANO FULL LED TV
NANO Lighting Technology
Micro Pixel Control
Infinite Contrast Ratio
INFINIA Design: 0.88cm Depth, 1.25cm Bezel
TruMotion 400Hz
3D TV (Dynamic 3D)
