I am calling for Apple to finally live stream their media events since the last couple of years. Today, Apple is finally doing it. Apple announced to http live stream the the September 1 event starting today at 10 am PDT.
Apple says that the stream is based on open standards, but you are required to have a Mac running Safari on Mac OS X 10.6. You can also watch the event on the iPhone, iPod touch and on the iPad.
Why Apple is just now deciding to stream live is unclear. It could be related to what Apple is presenting today. Rumors say that Apple is unveiling a streaming offering inside iTunes for TV Shows. I do not really care. I am just pleased that Apple live streaming the event.
There might also be a musical treat at the end. Rumors talk about Lady Gaga making an appearance on stage today.
The live stream will be available on the Apple site. The announcement would exclude Windows PCs from viewing the stream. Will see later if this is really the case.
