Rumors about a new Apple TV that will sell for $99 and run iOS are floating around since weeks. Today a couple hours before the Apple event a Tweet from Australian MacWorld (via 9to5Mac) says that Apple is said to unveil a new Apple TV with model number USA MC572 LL/A today. You will not be able to buy it right away and it will be indeed still be called Apple TV and not the rumored new iTV name.
The current model name of the 160GB Apple TV is MB189LL/A. I cannot really derive anything from this new leaked model number.
We will have to wait until Steve Jobs tell us all about the new Apple TV if it really will be unveiled today along a new iPod nano and iPod touch and what not.
The Apple September 1 Music event will be streamed live starting at 10am PDT. More details.
