I really like my iPad and I want to keep it from being scratched or damaged in any way as long as I can. To that end, I like to carry the iPad around in a sleeve of some sort just in case I drop it. Most sleeves only have room for the iPad so if you want to take your charger with typically you need another bag to carry the charger. Today I am checking out the XtremeMac Neoprene Sleeve that has room for more than just the iPad. Read on for all of the details.

Specifications

The XtremeMac Neoprene Sleeve is a form-fitting sleeve made of soft padded neoprene. It has a flap with a Velcro closure to keep the iPad from slipping out and has a second pocket inside for your charger or other small items. The XtremeMac Neoprene Sleeve is available now for $39.99.

In Use

I have used sleeves of different types before and so far, none of them has had room for anything but the iPad. In most instances, the sleeves were so form fitting to the iPad that the Apple wall adapter to charge the thing wouldn’t even fit inside it. The XtremeMac Neoprene Sleeve is different. At first glance, it looks like any other iPad sleeve I have tried.

When you rip that Velcro closure apart and flip the flap back, you have an extra pocket. The inside of my black review unit is bright orange. The orange color makes for very good visibility inside the sleeve so you can find little items you slip inside the thing. The sleeve is designed so that the front pocket is very stretchy.

I was able to not only get my iPad charger inside the extra pocket, but I could get my keys, iPhone, and other small items inside the pocket as well. If you are a student wanting to travel light, the XtremeMac Neoprene Sleeve has enough room for your cash and ID too. If you can get your books in digital versions this sleeve will be all you need to take with you to and from class.

The black outer neoprene of the case has an embossed design on it that gives it a bit of a quilted look. I would prefer it to just be smooth for looks. The back of the sleeve is smooth neoprene as is the flap. The XtremeMac Neoprene Sleeve is nice looking but the quilted style of the front is a bit feminine looking to my eyes. Overall, the XtremeMac Neoprene Sleeve is a very nice and capable sleeve to protect your iPad that will let you pack very light for your day.

Verdict

Pros

  • Extra pocket
  • Good visibility inside
  • Velcro closure

Cons

  • Quilted design on front is hit or miss

Conclusion

The XtremeMac Neoprene Sleeve is a sleeve with an extra pocket that is perfect for the iPad user looking to travel light that is priced well and is very well made.
