The Samsung Galaxy Tab is the belle of the ball at IFA 2010...but that doesn't mean it will be a success. The latest rumors put it as being even more expensive than the iPad, which is not very heartening news. Electronista reports that Expansys lists the cost as a staggering £680.
That equates to roughly $1,047 USD, which puts the Tab at twice the cost of the iPad and still 40% higher than the iPad 3G. ARMDevices lists the cost at 799 Euros or $1,025, while Journal du Geek has heard 699 Euroes or $895.
If any of these rumors are correct, the Galaxy Tab is in some serious trouble. Honestly, I don't see how a slate that much pricier than the iPad can honestly hope to compete. But I suppose we'll know if it is possible (and if these prices are accurate) soon.
