Android has reached another major milestone today. Phandroid reports that Quantcast has just put up their new mobile web share numbers. Android saw its greatest gains since November of 2009, and is now up to a whopping 25% of the mobile Internet. That is a 17% jump from this time last year.
The iPhone's share is down to a still-commanding 56%. At this rate, it isn't hard to imagine Android catching up to iOS, if not eclipsing them, within the next year. Personally, I'd bet on a tie (or close to one) in September, and an Android victory somewhere around January 2012, if not winter 2011.
