What can be considered the first Windows Phone 7 commercial appeared in the UK. Microsoft is sponsoring a Secret Cinema. Secret Cinema is a community that organizes secret movie nights in London. At one of these events the classic Lawrence of Arabia movie was screened. Before the movie a Windows Phone 7 ad themed after this classic movie ran. Watch the commercial below.
In some form this scene is very telling. Microsoft Smartphones are right now really in a very lonely place. Windows Phone 7 is supposed to bring Microsoft back into the game. Albeit the first reviews are not that promising and even Microsoft is damping expectations. The first generation of Windows Phone 7 are just the first step. The next generation is more seen as able to compete with Android and Apple iPhone.
