You can't have a perfect media box without a Blu-ray drive. Netbooked reports that a revamped version of the popular Asus Eee Box 1501 will be coming to Switzerland soon. This new-model 1501 will sport a Blu-ray drive instead of the standard DVD burner.
The 1501 is a solid net-top as it is. With a Blu-ray drive, it becomes a perfect media box solution for pretty much any living room. It's got a dual-core Atom 330 processor, Nvidia Ion graphics, a 320 GB HDD, 2 GB of RAM, and Windows 7 home premium. It will cost 400 Euros. No U.S. launch date has been given, but that should be coming (along with a price) in short order.
