Pentax announced the launch of the PENTAX Optio RS1000 digital compact camera. The Optio RS1000 allows you to customize the front panel design in a variety of ways.
The Optio RS1000 features a 14MP resolution, a 3.0-inch LCD monitor, a 4X optical zoom lens covering 27.5mm wide angle, and simple, user-friendly operation. Encased in a lightweight, credit-card-sized body, it is compact enough to carry anywhere for every occasion. The RS1000 offers a unique body design customization feature, which allows you to set in one of three included “dress-up” sheets, or any other material of your choice — such as photographs or illustrations — between the body and a transparent front panel.
How does the customization work? The Optio RS1000 features a removable transparent acrylic panel at the front of the main body frame. Simply by setting a dress-up sheet between the camera body and this panel, the user can easily and totally change the camera’s appearance. In addition to the three Alternative Skin included, the user can also use the Tracing Stencil (included) to produce original dress-up tools using photographs, posters, hand-drawn illustrations and other sources, and create a one-of-the-kind original camera. The camera’s front face also sports a fine spindle finish to assure an elegant appearance when no dress-up sheet is used.
This customization feature of the RS1000 makes it a hot holiday gift item. It is affordable too. Amazon lists the Pentax Optio RS1000 for $149.95 for pre-order.
