LaCie has been tossing new external storage solutions onto the market for years now. The company has pulled the wraps off a couple new USB 3.0 HDDs that are claimed to be the world's smallest mobile and desktop USB 3.0 HDDs. The new drives are very small and both are clad in a brushed aluminum housing that looks very nice.
The LaCie Minimus and Rikiki are the new storage solutions and the drives promise up to 5Gb/s of performance. The aluminum enclosures of the drive are designed to help the drives shed heat for use and the enclosures are recyclable when the drives are retired.
Both of the drives include 10GB of online Wuala storage. The Rikiki comes in 500GB capacity for $99.99 and the Minimus is a 1TB HDD selling for $129.99. Both of the drives can be purchased now directly from LaCie and other resellers.
