IE9 will not support Windows XP

Glad I got off XP just in time. Now it starts to feel really out dated.

IE9 will not support Windows XP

Microsoft released the public beta of IE 9 yesterday. The new Internet Explorer gets some warm reception, but Microsoft shows the cold sholder to Windows XP users. According the The Reg, Microsoft will not make IE9 compatible with Windows XP. The hardware acceleration features of IE9 will never be available from Microsoft on Windows XP.

As I wrote a couple weeks ago, I jumped ship all-together and upgraded my trusty Windows XP PC to a new 27-inch Core i7 Apple iMac. I did not regret the move one bit. The transition was actually much less painful than I would have imagined. Computing the Apple way feels easier and cooler. Now that you loose out on innovation from Microsoft on Windows XP you really need to start thinking what to do: Upgrade to Windows 7 or take the opportunity to switch to Apple.

For those of you who run Windows 7 you can download the IE 9 beta here.
