Fall is here and Sony comes through on the promised 3D Blu-ray support for the Sony PS3. At the TGS 2010 Sony announced that the PS3 firmware 3.50 will bring 3D Blu-ray support and will be released next week on September 21st. Now we just need 3D Blu-ray movies. Amazon actually carries the few available 3D Blu-ray movies you can buy now. Among them are Monster House and Cloud with a Chance of Meatballs. Disney's A Christmas Carol will ship on November 16th. See all 3D Blu-ray movies available on Amazon.
While support for Blu-ray 3D discs is the primary new feature within the 3.50 update, there will be a few additional features says Sony. Sony will unveil these on Monday.
The Sony PS3 can already display games in 3D since firmware 3.30.
The bigger news for the Sony PS3 is actually the Playstation Move release tomorrow.
