Last week we reported that Newspaper and Magazine subscriptions for the Apple iPad are rumored to launch soon. Bloomberg (via MacRumors) chimes now in with a report fed with information from two people familiar with the matter. Apple is according to this working on a digital newsstand. The iNewsstand would be similar to the iBookstore, but focused on selling newspapers, magazines and of also subscriptions.
The iBookstore is already graphically appealing. A iNewsstand could even be more attractive. The rumored time frame for the Apple digital newstand is still within a couple of months. As rumored earlier the problem is ownership of customer data related to subscriptions. What is good that Apple will most likely launch a complete package offering digital newspapers and magazines. If done right it will drive much more users to the iPad. Right now an iPad does not fit into my digital life style, but if it will be easy to consume any newspaper and magazine around the world I think I will buy one.
