Pixel Qi has just sent out some updates announcing the completion of their first round of series B financing. They now have a new 7" Pixel Qi display in development. This new screen should hit in the first half of 2011, and samples could start filtering out by Q4.
The launch of Pixel Qi tablets has been delayed by the "disruptive" influence of the iPad. It pulled tight their already choked supply chains and has made things difficult for manufacturers across the board. PQ says that "Many of our device makers used this downtime to refine their designs with the result being even more exciting offerings that are highly differentiated from the iPad..."
That's certainly what we like to hear around here. Of course, it could all just be marketing speech. Promises of bold new designs are one thing. Delivering them? That's another.
