Magazines and newspapers are not really at home yet on the Apple iPad. We reported over the weekend that Apple is supposed to work on the iNewsstand for the Apple iPad to create a one-stop shop for newspapers, magazines issues and subscriptions.
Apple Insider pulls together several reports about the latest Sports Illustrated issue for the iPad that show the difficulties magazine face with Apple. The latest SI iPad issue is only available in landscape mode. The reason for this is apparently to cut production cost.
Sports Illustrated says Apple does not allow to offer iPad subscriptions at a reasonable price. That is why the have to cut cost and only "experiment" with the format.
