There have been several new cameras unveiled today and among them is the new Leica D-Lux 5 digitalcamera. The D-Lux 5 has the cool retro style that Leica is famous for and packs some nice features into that attractive package. The camera has a 5.1 to 19.2mmf/2-3.3 ASPH lens with a focal range equivalent to 24 to 90mm in 35mm format.
The camera can record 720p HD resolution video in AVCHD-Lite format and has a bunch of available accessories. The CCD used on the camera is a 1/1.63" sensor and that camera has 10.1MP resolution. The optical zoom is 3.8x.
The camera also has 4x digital zoom. Other features include a macro mode, face detection, AF tracking, and more. The longest video that camera can record is 29 minutes. The mechanical shutter has burst of up to 10 frames per second in speed priority mode. The camera will sell for £630 when it lands in the UK this October.
