The giant, iconic video screen in the middle of New York's Times Square will for the first time ever present a 3D video. But yes, viewers will need 3D glasses to fully appreciate it.

Glasses will be handed out to spectators and tourists who flock to the area. The video will be an advertisement for Honda's CR-Z Sport Hybrid as part of one of the automaker's biggest marketing campaigns ever for a single model.
Known as the SpectacolorHD screen, it has been deemed the best digital image screen in all of New York City and has been the forefront of numerous innovative marketing campaigns. It's an icon, but this is the first time anyone has tried to do something in 3D.
To be honest, the fact that you need 3D glasses to view the ad is a humongous risk. Most people will never get to see the message in its full clarity. However, those who do will likely get a very big impression from it. So we'll see how it pays out for Honda.
