HP is a terrible tease.
The Windows 7 HP Slate is sort of dead but not really. A version of it with Windows 7 will be launching for the Enterprise community, and another running a tablet-optimized version of webOS will hit...someday. First off, the prototype Slate is gorgeous. The rubber back gives it a look distinct from the iPad, while the silvered covers for every port and slot allow it to maintain that seamless look. Booting up, the Slate takes notably longer than an iPad. In fact, most movements on this thing seem just a tad too slow, which is probably why it was canned in the first place.

The system load of Windows 7 is probably the main culprit here. But a tablet with these looks and specs, running webOS? That's a potent mixture.
