As the only 3D TV to pass the rigorous test for 3D THX certification, you'd expect LG's PX950 to be extremely expensive. But it's not.
LG has announced pricing details for the exquisite plasma set, and it's only $1,999. Of course, that's no small price tag but it is certainly far away from being the most expensive option on the market.
That's for the 50-inch option, at least. For 60 inches you'll need to spend a more hefty $2,999.
But because it is the only plasma set to pass the very tough standards set by THX to be THX 3D certified, you know it's a very solid product.
In addition to passing THX's serious tests for color, sound, video quality, and HD resolution, it also gets the highest mark possible for reducing blurry "cross-talk" problems in 3D as well as perfect functioning from multiple viewing angles.
The PX950 also offers 2D-to-3D conversion as well as all of LG's latest Internet TV services including Netflix, Vudu, YouTube, and Yahoo's suite of TV widgets.
The TV should be out and available for purchase in the coming months.
