Full disclosure from a gadget-maker is kind of nice.
Earlier in the month, Notion Ink's blog-master Rohan Shavran posted up some design notes for the Adam. We got to see some of the process behind finalizing its look and learned just why they put that weird cylinder on one side of the thing. Now, part two of the update is out.
First off was a 3D drawing of the camera, which will be able to swivel a full 185 degrees in order to offset the slate's natural inclination. Rohan gives this as "THE most difficult" job of the whole design process. The battery is a 3-cell, and the mesh battery cover is one of two parts of the Adam that will be color-customizable.

The most expensive part of the entire slate was the screen, specifically the protective glass portion of it. Rohan ended the post with a somewhat blurred image of an Adam render, and then promised that October 9th would see an update with photos of the finished device, straight from their factory.
