Long-running action game series Samurai Warriors has come to the Wii in its first exclusive entry to the Nintendo console.
Samurai Warriors 3 was released today, giving players an online gaming option to explore the world of Japanese warriors. Because it was developed exclusively for the Wii, the controls were built from the ground up and the game has brand new game modes.
Players can use the Wii Remote with Nunchuck, the Classic Controller Pro, or the Gamecube controller to control the game. It includes 35 playable samurai characters, each with its own sets of weapons and moves.
One of the new modes for the Wii-exclusive title is Historical Mode, which provides players with real-life facts about Japanese samurai history.
"Samurai Warriors 3 is so much more than a fast-paced action game. Players can not only team up with a friend for intense battles, but they can also immerse themselves in the rich history and culture of Japan. We're proud to be giving Wii owners exclusive access to the latest Samurai Warriors adventure, whether they're newcomers or longtime fans," said Nintendo PR director Marc Franklin.
There's also a throwback to a classic Nintendo game called The Mysterious Murasame Castle, only ever released in Japan. Players complete various missions based on the old 1980s Famicom game.
Samurai Warriors 3 is available now for $50.
