Geek Creates R2D2 Replica He Can Ride In!

I like Star Wars like most geeks, but some of us take our love of Star Wars to extremes. One dude has taken a white plastic barrel and used it to construct his own R2D2 robot that he can ride inside. Details on the robot are scant.

What we know is that the dome moves, it has fans, and is self-propelled. There is no detail on how the person built the thing or what it is powered by. This would well be the most awesome Halloween costume ever.

You can see the thing in action in the video below. This may be the best recycling of a plastic drum ever. I hope the guy comes back with some details on how he pulled this off.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
