Nokia announced today that the Nokia N8 is shipping. The company says that the Nokia N8 has received the highest amount of consumer pre-orders in Nokia history. The N8 runs Symbian 3 offering true multitasking. Other impressive features of the N8 include 12MP camera with Carl Zeiss Optics, 3.5-inch OLED screen, accelerometer, compass, Proximity sensor, Ambient Light sensor, Wifi 802.11b/g/n, HSDPA, HSUPA, HDMI, Bluetooth and FM Tuner.
The Nokia N8 offers the ability to make HD-quality videos and edit them with a built-in editing suite. The Nokia N8 also enables access to Web TV services that deliver programs, news and entertainment from channels like CNN, E! Entertainment, Paramount and National Geographic.
The Nokia N8 is possibly the last high-end Symbian Phone. Nokia has a new boss and he comes from Microsoft and the Windows Phone 7 rumors are already swirling. Additionally Nokia is active in the MeeGo OS development.
Market availability of the Nokia N8 will vary by country and by operator, with broad availability in the coming weeks.
