Tribeca Silicon Sleeve for iPhone and iPod Touch Hard Shell Case Review
iPhone and iPod touch case perfect for sports fans

Earlier in the week, I looked at a protective silicone sleeve for the iPad from Tribeca Gear that was very nice. Today I am looking at a couple more items from the company that are for the iPhone and the iPod touch. One of the items is a Hard Case for the iPod touch and the other is a soft silicone case for the iPhone. Read on for all of the details on the items.
Specifications
The iPod Touch Hard Case is offered in versions with various sports team logos and fits both the second and third generation iPod touch players. It comes in black only and sells for $29.99. The iPhone silicone case also comes in various team logos and colors for $24.99 and will fit the iPhone 3G or 3GS.
In Use
The Hard Shell case for the iPod touch is a nice fitted case that clamps to the back of the iPod touch. The case is made from hard plastic and it leaves all the ports and controls for the iPod open. The case is very easy to install and fits well. It should provide nice protection for the touch in the event of a drop. The Hard Shell case does leave the screen of the touch exposed and vulnerable to scratches. I would suggest putting a screen protector film on the iPod when using the case.
It appears that all of the hard cases are black despite the team logo or colors. You can get logos that are in color on the black case for all the NFL teams and many college teams, MLB teams, and NBA teams. Cases with NHL teams on them are coming soon according to the manufacturer.
I also have an iPhone 3G/3GS Silicone case for review. The silicone is very soft and flexible and will pad your iPhone if you happen to drop the device. This is one of the few cases from the maker that you can get in different colors. The cases come in the main team colors with white outline logos. The logos are laser engraved and should last for a long time. The case is made to leave the camera, ports, and controls accessible. The home button is covered with this case, as are the volume and screen lock controls.
I had no issues connecting my iPhone or iPod touch to the charge and sync cable with either of these cases installed. It is worth noting that like any other cases of this sort, your gadgets probably will not fit onto a dock with the case installed. The silicone case added too much thickness to my iPhone for it to charge with the sleeve on using my alarm clock dock at the bedside.
