Spread that QNX love around.
The BlackBerry Playbook runs on a special QNX-based platform acquired for $200 million earlier this year. Now Bloomberg reports that this powerful OS may make its way onto a BlackBerry smartphone. Alan Brenner, SVP, BlackBerry Platform, said:

QNX was chosen for the Playbook because it allowed RIM to rebuild from the ground up, doing things that the limited legacy software in BB OS simply couldn't. QNX may even allow BlackBerry users to partake in Android apps. Apparently, converting said apps from Android to the new QNX OS is much easier.
