I have been looking at a few accessories for Apple gadgets over the last week and I have another case from Tribeca Gear for the iPad to look at today. This simple sleeve will protect the iPad and has your favorite sports team logo. If you are a sports fan looking for iPad protection read on for all of the details.
The Tribeca Gear Apple iPad Sleeve has an opening that has a top section that stretches over the top of the iPad. The sleeve is made from neoprene and has a soft microfiber faux fur lining. You can find the case in many different NFL, college, and other team logos for $39.99. My review sample has the Dallas Cowboys star on it.
This is the first iPad case I have used that lacked some sort of flap closure. There is nothing wrong with the design functionally, but it does make the case look a bit cheaper than it really is. You put the iPad into a slit in the sleeve that covers all but about the top 2-inches of the iPad. The top section of the sleeve above the slit then just stretches over the top of the iPad. The neoprene material is stretch enough that the iPad is very easy to put in and out of the sleeve.
My favorite thing about the sleeve is that the lining is soft enough and the neoprene is stretchy enough that I can get the iPad inside the sleeve with a silicone case on it without any issues. I am not a big fan of most sleeves because they fit so tight that you can't get a protective sleeve on the iPad and still fit the iPad into the case. With the Tribeca Gear Apple iPad Sleeve, I can leave that Tribeca silicone iPad case that I reviewed earlier in the week on the iPad and have protection from the sleeve in transit and protection from drops when I am using the iPad from the silicone case.
All of the Tribeca Gear Apple iPad Sleeves are black neoprene with the logo in the team colors. The Cowboys logo on my review sample feels a bit rubbery and even my attempts to scratch the logo off on purpose were in vain. It appears that the team logo will last a long time.
The case is well built with heavy-duty seams and the neoprene is thick enough that it should pad your iPad well in the event of a drop. The soft lining of the sleeve will also prevent scratches on the screen and body of your iPad. Overall, this is a very nice sleeve.
