Samsung has pulled the wraps off a new mobile WiMax tech that offers some major blazing speed. The new WiMax 2 speeds are based on IEEE 802.16m and offers up to 330Mbps of data bandwidth. The new service can support full-HD 3D videos and as many as 16 full-HD videos on four large format screens at once.
The Samsung service is being trialed right now using the Samsung Mobile WiMax base stations in service around the world. The new service will also for more efficient, faster, and more converged services according to Samsung.
The WiMax 2 standards are set to be finalized on November 2010. Plans for the first commercial WiMax 2 solutions are set for the end of 2011.
