Microsoft will host the Windows Phone 7 Worldwide launch events on October 11th. Neowin reports that Microsoft is unveiling their Slate strategy at the event as well. Neowin's sources say that Microsoft will talk briefly about the plans for Windows Tablets. The new Windows Tablets would still ship in time for the Holidays.
Until now only HP has been showing a Windows Tablet, but remained murky on the release. Windows 7 is also seen as not optimized for Tablet use. Has Microsoft cooked up a special Windows 7 version for Tablets over the last months?
In general the Tablet competition for the iPad is not really shaping up for this holiday season. The Android 3.0 running Tegra based Tablets are all scheduled for a 2011 release. Archos and Samsung are among the very few manufactures that offer decent Android Tablets for the Holidays.
