Customers looking to buy a new smartphone are choosing Android. That's what the latest NielsenWire blog post revealed. Based on the Nielsen Company's August data, Android is #1. Most people who bought a smartphone in the last six months went with the little green robot.
BlackBerry and Apple are in a "statistical dead heat" for second place. 31% of the market uses RIM phones, giving them the lead. Apple comes in second in total share with 28%. Only 19% of customers have Android devices but, as this info shows, that fact is changing very rapidly.
