WiFi calling is coming to T-Mobile Android handsets. AT&T has just sent out a press release announcing the availability of WiFi calling solutions on a "growing selection" of smartphones. The myTouch and Motorola Defy were both mentioned by name. Users with affected phones will be able to make voice calls and send text messages when connected to a WiFi network.

Hanging around in some hostel on the other side of the world? Your smartphone will be more than just a fancy PMP with WiFi calling. Sure, it isn't as good as a regular voice & data connection, but at least you'll be able to text from far away.
