Sprint Unveils Pre-Owned Device Program

Sprint has announced a new program that will let users under a contract get a new device at a low fee without affecting their upgrade status or having to file a new contract. The program is called the Certified Pre-Owned Program.

The program has only a few handsets in it and those devices include the Blackberry Tour or Hero, Samsung Reclaim, and Sanyo 2700. The devices will have a straight cost for users on a contract of $79.99 for the Tour and $49.99 for the Reclaim or 2700.

A customer looking for a cheap handset on a new contract can also opt for the pre-owned handsets. On contract, the Hero and Tour will cost $29.99 and the Reclaim or 2700 will be free. All of the handsets are inspected for defects in looks and operation and certified for resale. They are returned to stock status and the firmware is updated on the devices.
