A new Palm Pre 2 with webOS 2.0 could be nearer than we think. Two days ago an image of a new Palm Pre leaked in France. Now Engadget received a blurry shot of what is supposed a a document from the Verizon learning portal. The document mentions the Palm Pre 2 and that it has a new webOS version.
Since HP bought Palm earlier this year the mobile phone release plans went dark. We saw leaks of the webOS 2.0 and some indications that new HP Palm phones are in the works. Unless HP is unleashing a marketing storm, I do not see the new Palm phones to get any mindshare this fall. Microsoft has unveiled ten Windows Phone 7 phones that will be heavily marketed during fall. It will be already hard for Android and Apple to compete with Microsoft on the marketing front this fall.
