The Samsung Galaxy S series of Android Phones starts to get the Android 2.2 (Froyo) update. Galaxy S users in Nordic countries are getting the update right about now. The Android 2.2 update brings Flash 10.1, Google Maps with Voice navigation, setup wizard, home screen and menu preview with pinch-zoom and search in browser. Android 2.2 brings also several bug fixes and minor improvements.

Samsung has sold already over 5 million Galaxy S Android phones world-wide.

The Android 2.2 upgrade will be available via Kies, Samsung's in-house software upgrade program. Kies can be downloaded at the Samsung mobile website. As mentioned above Nordic countries get the Froyo update now. Other regions including the United States gradually follow.

Samsung Galaxy S Android phones are on sale on Amazon Wireless including the Samsung Fascinate ($49.99 with new contract).
