Apple may be throwing their hat into the ultraportable notebook category once more, with an 11.6" MacBook Air. AppleInsider has heard from "several independent sources" that this new machine will launch next Wednesday at the "Back to the Mac" event. The source for this rumor is considered extremely accurate by AppleInsider.
A second tipster claims that this Air will come with different storage options. Instead of an HDD or an SSD, they will pack an SSD Card, which supposedly "more closely resembles a stick of RAM" but is not easy to swap. The Air could be as light as 2.7 lbs and may have a unibody enclosure with at least some carbon fiber pieces. It may also be very similar to the current 13.3" Air in design.
